Marlene Rodgers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Hunter College and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Adelphi University. She is also credentialed as a CASAC (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor). Marlene is also native to New York and is able to bring her knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and insights to assist individuals in improving their confidence, careers, relationships, and family life.

During her clinical training, Marlene has focused primarily on adolescent, adult, couples, and family psychotherapy. In addition, she spent several years working in various settings, including home-based therapy, addiction therapy, adolescent residential treatment, inpatient psychiatric treatment, and outpatient clinical settings. Marlene is also SIFI certified and can supervise therapists seeking to obtain their “C” licensure.
Marlene utilizes evidenced-based treatment strategies to aid individuals in developing healthier coping skills, increase personal confidence, make healthy lifestyle changes, and to overcome barriers in their lives. She also believes that change happens when people are given the guidance and support to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live happy, fulfilling lives. Her practice provides an environment of compassion and support to help individuals and families overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive

Approach

Marlene takes a client-centered approach to mental health counseling. She believes that each individual’s experiences and needs are unique, and works collaboratively with her clients to develop personalized treatment plans. Marlene has expertise in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy. She prioritizes creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
